Naruto-filmen förväntas börja sin inspelning under nästa år

Den kommande live-action-rullen baserad på den populära mangan har befunnit sig i ett produktions-limbo under en smärre evighet. Nu verkar dock Lionsgate, som producerar den, fått ordning på det hela. Man förväntas börja inspelningen av Naruto under 2027 och det är Destin Daniel Cretton som kommer att regissera samt skriva manus. Cretton är för närvarande aktuell som regissör till succén Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Under sommaren har man även dragit igång sökandet efter huvudrollerna. Man letar specifikt efter skådespelare som ska axla karaktärerna Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha samt Sakura Haruno.

Den officiella casting-callen lyder; "Kishimoto-sensei's stories have inspired generations of fans around the world, and it's an honor to bring his world and characters to the big screen in live action for the very first time. I'm thrilled to kick off this worldwide casting search for our Team 7 and to bring the incredible universe of Naruto to life!"

Masashi Kishimoto som skapat Naruto har också uttalat sig; "Right now, miracles are happening to me, one after another. My work, Naruto, is truly, truly becoming a Hollywood movie! And an even greater miracle is that the film will be directed by the one and only Destin Daniel Cretton. I still cannot believe it! If so many miracles have already come together, then let us hope for even more. I am eagerly looking forward to the miraculous encounters that will bring us extraordinary and passionate actors! I cannot wait to meet my characters in the film!".

Naruto har sedan den såg dagens ljus växt till ett världsomfattande franchise. Den 72 volymer långa mangan pågick mellan 1999 - 2014 och har också blivit väldigt populär i form av Anime-två serier och ett antal spel.
