Orioles Call Up Gibson To Start vs. Yankees

The Baltimore Orioles will activate top pitching prospect Trey Gibson to start against the New York Yankees on Sunday, according to manager Craig Albernaz.

Gibson, a 6-foot-5 right-hander ranked as Baltimore's No. 3 prospect, is being called up from Triple-A to join the Orioles' taxi squad. The move comes as Trevor Rogers, Dean Kremer and Zach Eflin are on the injured list, leaving the team short on starting pitching.

The 23-year-old signed with the Orioles as an undrafted free agent in 2023 and has a 4.01 ERA in six Triple-A starts this season with 25 strikeouts. The Orioles enter Sunday's matchup with a 15-17 record, six games out of first place in the AL East. djcc.club
