Liverpool Secure Two Defensive Signings Ahead of 2026-27

Liverpool have already signed defender Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes for £60m and 18‑year‑old centre‑back Ifeanyi Ndukwe from Austria Wien, as part of a planned defensive rebuild under Arne Slot.

Liverpool’s first summer move is the acquisition of Jeremy Jacquet, a 23‑year‑old centre‑back from Stade Rennais, for a reported £60m. The deal, confirmed at the end of the season, reflects the club’s urgency to shore up a defence that struggled earlier in the campaign.

Alongside Jacquet, the club has secured 18‑year‑old Ifeanyi Ndukwe from Austria Wien. The towering centre‑back is seen as a long‑term project, with the club planning to develop him gradually while bolstering the backline for the 2026‑27 season.
