Akron Zips Name Dustin Ford Head Coach

The Akron Zips have named Dustin Ford their new head basketball coach, replacing John Groce. Ford, who served as Groce's assistant since 2017, takes over immediately after Groce accepted the College of Charleston job.

Ford, a former Ohio player, previously worked under Groce at Western Carolina and Ohio. He joined Groce at Illinois and followed him to Akron.

Ford's brother, Geno Ford, is the head coach at Stony Brook.
