Astros lose Diaz to oblique strain

Houston catcher Yainer Diaz was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left oblique strain.

Manager Joe Espada said Diaz would be out 'for a while' after he was injured during batting practice Monday. The Astros selected catcher César Salazar from Triple-A Sugar Land as backup, with Christian Vázquez stepping in as starter. sport-tr.bet

Diaz, 27, is hitting .248 with two home runs and 14 RBIs in 26 games this season.
