Broad Street Run: 40K Runners Ready for 47th Annual Race

40,000 runners will take to the streets for the 47th annual Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run this Sunday, May 7, at 7 a.m.

The nation's largest 10-mile race will begin at Central High School Athletic Field in Philadelphia's Logan section, ending at the Navy Yard. Road closures will start at 2 a.m., with no parking permitted on Broad Street from Olney Avenue to the Navy Yard until noon. sweetbonanza.qpon

Public transportation is recommended for participants and spectators. Runners can ride the B Line for free with their race bib, boarding at any station and riding north to Olney Transportation Center for the start. The course is expected to reopen by noon, with detours in place due to I-95 South construction affecting the Walt Whitman Bridge/Packer Avenue exit.
