Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime secured the nation's first win at the Monte-Carlo Masters by defeating Marin Cilic in straight sets.

The sixth-seeded Canadian won 7-6 (4), 6-3 on Tuesday, saving two break points to improve his head-to-head record against the Croatian veteran to 4-3.

Auger-Aliassime, who received a first-round bye, advances to face No. 9 seed Casper Ruud in the round of 16.
