Iowa Lands 2027 DB Jake Thies

Thies, a 6-foot-185-pound safety from Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Illinois, chose the Hawkeyes over a list of schools including Illinois, Vanderbilt, Duke, and Northwestern. He had previously been scheduled to visit those programs in the coming months.

Thies is the fourth member of Iowa's 2027 recruiting class. The do-it-all athlete had a strong senior season, recording 18 tackles and an interception on defense while adding 161 yards and two touchdowns on offense.
