Robot Umpire Approved for 2026 SEC Tournament Challenges

The NCAA Rules Committee has approved an automated challenge system for balls and strikes at the 2026 SEC Tournament.

The system, similar to Major League Baseball, allows each team three challenges per game. If a challenge is successful, the team retains the challenge, but a failed challenge results in a loss. michezonews.co.za

The tournament runs May 19-24 in Hoover, Alabama, and the Automatic Ball-Strike system could be used by other conferences if protocols are followed.
