Senegal Defiantly Parades Afcon Trophy

The aggrieved African champions, who were controversially stripped of their title after winning the tournament in January against hosts Morocco, made a defiant stand by bringing the trophy onto the pitch for a lap of honor. The ceremony followed a pre-match concert by Senegalese singer Youssou N'Dour.

'We know we're African champions,' said Senegal head coach as the team, led by captain Kalidou Coulibaly, proudly displayed the trophy despite the official ruling that had stripped them of their victory earlier this month.
