USMNT winger Tim Weah captained Olympique de Marseille in their 4-0 Ligue 1 season-opening victory against Strasbourg.

Tim Weah, a US men's national team player, was appointed captain of Marseille by new manager Bruno Génésio. The American started at right back and played the full 90 minutes in the dominant victory. raccoongame.org

Weah completed his permanent transfer to Marseille in June after joining on loan last season. Meanwhile, fellow USMNT player Gio Reyna appeared as a substitute for Strasbourg, playing 21 minutes in his first appearance for the club.
