Welsh FA Withdraws Support for Infantino's FIFA Re-election

The Welsh Football Federation has become the first FIFA member to withdraw its support for President Gianni Infantino's re-election bid.

The Welsh FA announced on Monday it was withdrawing support for Infantino's 2027 FIFA presidency campaign citing "failures in terms of good governance, processes, and leadership." The federation stated that Infantino "has lost the confidence of the Welsh Federation to remain at the helm of world football" and that "not putting the interest of football first is a failure that we cannot accept." bettingx.club

Infantino remains the only declared candidate for the March 2027 election, which would give him another four-year term as FIFA president.
