The Unpacking Future Packers Countdown is a countdown of 100 prospects who the Green Bay Packers could select in the 2026 NFL draft.
The Green Bay Packers must address the quality of depth across the offensive line this offseason. With Rasheed Walker and Sean Rhyan both set to hit free agency, and Elgton Jenkins potentially being a cap casualty, Brian Gutekunst will almost assuredly use multiple draft picks to bolster the Great Wall of Lambeau.
A potential prospect whom Gutekunst could target on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft is DJ Campbell. The Texas guard checks in at No. 69 in the Unpacking Future Packers Countdown.
A former three-sport athlete at Bowie High School in Texas, Campbell finished his career at Texas with 43 career starts at right guard to his name.
Campbell is a physical finisher and snowplow in the run game. He paves the way for clear roads. He's powerful at the point of contact and has the strength to bury defenders. He has a lot of power in his leg drive. He really seems to enjoy the physical side of the game. The former five-star recruit moves well in space and has balanced footwork to stay under control.
"Campbell is an ultra-competitive guy who loves playing ball in the trenches," CJ Vogel, a Texas reporter for On Texas Football, said. "The physicality aspect of the game is something that fits right in with his skill set."
Campbell has a stout base and outstanding length for the position (34-inch arms). He uses a timely punch to stun oncoming pass rushers. He plays with natural knee bend and has good lateral quickness. This past season, Campbell gave up one sack and 18 pressures. His alertness in protection has improved each season.
"Campbell’s athleticism was something that earned him a five-star rating out of high school, and continued to be one of the biggest bright spots in his game during his career at Texas," Vogel said. "He moves laterally very well and is incredibly strong upon first contact."
Fit with the Packers
The Packers need to address the interior depth of their offensive line. The starting five to start the 2026 season projects as Jordan Morgan, Aaron Banks, a rookie, Anthony Belton and Zach Tom.
They need somebody who can step in at guard in if something happens to Banks or if Belton is forced to go out to right tackle if Tom misses the start of the season due to injury.
Jacob Monk could provide quality depth or he could be the team's starting center. Even if the Packers believe Monk can contribute, they still need more bodies.
With his experience, athleticism and frame, Campbell could be an ideal target for the Packers on Day 3, as they search for quality depth at guard.
"DJ was a key piece on the Texas offensive line last year," Vogel said. "While the unit as a whole wasn’t anything to write home about, Campbell manned the right guard spot as well as one could’ve hoped for, especially towards the back end of the season.
