Nine-time All-Star Chris Sale will remain with the Atlanta Braves after agreeing to a one-year, $27 million contract extension with a $30 million club option for 2028. The 36-year-old was set to hit free agency after this season but will now be locked up with the team through at least 2027.
The Braves now have three key pitchers secured through 2027, joining Sale with Spencer Strider and Spencer Schwellenbach. The team is considering a six-man rotation to start the season due to playing 13 consecutive days at the beginning of the year.
