Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal team were left desperately disappointed after a 2-2 draw with Wolves on Wednesday night, letting another two points slip away in an increasingly tight title race.

The Gunners have now lost one, drawn four, and won just two of their last seven Premier League fixtures, hardly the form of title winners.

It’s only the other competitions that have kept things positive, with Arsenal winning all six FA Cup, League Cup, and Champions League games during that same period. But in the league, the Gunners really need to get back to winning ways this weekend.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s fixture against Tottenham Hotspur, Declan Rice admitted the team had an intense team meeting following the Wolves disappointment.

“We’re not going to be handed it, we need to go and win it, we need to deserve it and we need to be ready for anything that is thrown at us,” Rice said (via The S*n).

“We spoke to each other in a firm way after Wolves, we knew we’d let ourselves and the fans down after being in such a good position.

“Letting it slip is not the standards that we have set ourselves this season. We had a team meeting and we are ready to go again.

“The North London derby is the perfect game to respond to that. It’s a massive game, one that is going to be massive in our season.”

If Arsenal can get a win on Sunday and maintain the current gap at the top of the Premier League table as we move into March, that would provide some much-needed momentum ahead of another couple of tricky games at home to Chelsea and away to Brighton at the start of next month.
