EspañolWhile they may not be the flashiest guys on the field, there's no denying that offensive linemen are a critical group for a team with championship aspirations. National championships and Super Bowls have been won and lost solely because of the way a team's offensive line plays.
When looking at the high school ranks, the 2027 class is loaded with elite talent, regardless of the position on the line.
As USA TODAY High School Sports continues its scouting focus on the top players from each position group, here's a look at the top 10 offensive linemen in the 2027 class.
1. Mark Matthews
School: St. Thomas Aquinas (FL)
Height: 6-5.5
Weight: 300
Commitment Status: Uncommitted
Summary: A lineman who originally started his high school career on defense, Matthews played a vital role in the Raiders' state championship run in 2025. He holds offers from nearly every major Power Four program, including Miami, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M, and Texas.
2. Maxwell Hiller
School: Coatesville Area (PA)
Height: 6-5
Weight: 300
Commitment Status: Uncommitted
Summary: Everything about Hiller's game screams future first-round draft pick. He can start at either guard or tackle, with interest from nearly every major Power Four program. His summer visit schedule includes Alabama (May 29), Tennessee (June 12) and Florida (June 19).
3. Kennedy Brown
School: Kingwood (TX)
Height: 6-4
Weight: 285
Commitment Status: Uncommitted
Summary: Brown made the transition to left tackle ahead of his junior season. While he had some issues in pass protection at times, he made the transition seamless. With a wingspan over seven feet and massive hands, he also moves well up to the second level, which is why the top Power Four programs in the state are clamoring after him.
4. Cooper Hackett
School: Fort Gibson (Fort Gibson, Okla.)
Height: 6-6.5
Weight: 250
Commitment Status: Oklahoma
Summary: Hackett committed to the Sooners last September, but that commitment is being tested. Texas Tech has come on in the last few months and has provided significant pressure, leading many to believe he'll flip to the Red Raiders ahead of his senior season.
5. Albert Simien
School: Sam Houston (LA)
Height: 6-3
Weight: 275
Commitment Status: Uncommitted
Summary: Simien may not be the biggest offensive lineman in the cycle but his physical interior play more than makes up for that lack of size. He plays left tackle and was at his best for Sam Houston as a run blocker during his junior season.
6. Caden Moss
School: Jackson Academy (MS)
Height: 6-4.5
Weight: 295
Commitment Status: Uncommitted
Summary:Ole Miss offensive line coach John Garrison is doing everything in his power to keep Moss home and away from the rest of the SEC. He's visited Ole Miss more than any other school and is scheduled to be back on campus June 19 for an official visit.
7. Kaeden Penny
School: Bixby (OK)
Height: 6-4
Weight: 280
Commitment Status: Oklahoma
Summary: Penny's about as solid a pledge for Oklahoma as any prospect could be. He committed to the Sooners last September and has not taken a visit to any other school since then.
8. Ismael Camara
School: Gilmer (TX)
Height: 6-6
Weight: 335
Commitment Status: Uncommitted
Summary: Another elite offensive talent from the Longhorn State, it appears Camara will stay in his home state to play college football. He's scheduled four official visits between May and June and LSU (June 6) is the only team not from Texas making that list. He'll visit SMU (May 2), Texas A&M (May 30) and Texas (June 12).
9. Joshua Sam-Epelle
School: Douglas County (GA)
Height: 6-8.5
Weight: 310
Commitment Status: Uncommitted
Summary: Sam-Epelle started for a Douglas County team in 2025 that went 9-4 and made it to the Class 6A quarterfinals. Even at this size, Sam-Epelle's shown a burst and can play both in a zone or gap scheme as he continues to progress.
10. Kelsey Adams
School: Langston Hughes (GA)
Height: 6-5
Weight: 260
Commitment Status: Georgia
Summary: A 6-foot-5, 293-pound force up front, Adams committed to the Bulldogs last September, choosing them over Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU and Ohio State. He transferred to Langston Hughes ahead of his junior season after playing at North Clayton the previous two seasons.
