A former Blue Jay is set to join a division rival.
Outfielder Randal Grichuk is joining the New York Yankees as a non-roster invite on a minor-league deal, Jack Curry of YES Network reported Wednesday.
MLB insider Jon Heyman of The New York Post confirmed the addition.
Grichuk, 34, has bounced around MLB since being traded away from the Blue Jays in 2022. Since then, he has played for the Colorado Rockies, Los Angeles Angels, Arizona Diamondbacks and Kansas City Royals.
In 2025, he posted a .228 batting average with a .674 OPS and nine home runs in 113 games split between the Diamondbacks and Royals.
Over his 12-year career, Grichuk has a .243 batting average and .751 OPS with 212 home runs. He spent four seasons with the Blue Jays from 2018 to 2021.
Grichuk has enjoyed some success against the Yankees in MLB, posting a .253 average and .825 OPS with 18 home runs — his second-highest mark against any opponent.
