Aaron Rodgers will likely be back as the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback for the 2026 season. Although it is not officially confirmed, the belief around the league is that Rodgers could come to a decision around mid-March. The Steelers should still invest in a quarterback for the future, even if Rodgers does return.

One potential option for the Steelers just became available in Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson, according to ESPN’s Stephen Holder.

Richardson has started just 15 games in three seasons for Indianapolis after being selected number four overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. He has thrown 11 touchdowns to 13 interceptions in those 15 starts.

Richardson was a highly touted prospect for his athletic ability and arm talent. Unfortunately, Richardson has not been able to put it all together with the Colts, who clearly prefer to move forward with Daniel Jones as their starter.

Behind The Steel Curtain was able to ask Khan about a potential trade for a quarterback during his press conference on Tuesday. Khan offered a simple response.

“I’d say all options are on the table right now.”

With an uncertain future at quarterback, the Steelers could likely look to make a move for a young and uber-talented player like Richardson to develop for a year under Aaron Rodgers. New Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy has a history of getting the best play possible from his quarterbacks. McCarthy played a huge role in Rodgers’ development during their time in Green Bay. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott also had some of the best years of his career under McCarthy.
