LOOK: Every 49ers grade from NFLPA 2026 report cards

The NFL successfully the NFL Players' Association from releasing its annual report cards. That didn't mean they could block the report cards from leaking.

ESPN's Kalyn Kahler obtained and reported the entire list of 2026 NFLPA report cards, including every grade for the San Francisco 49ers.

Once again the 49ers received mostly good marks across the board. They didn't get any A+ grades, but they did receive an A- or better in 10 of the 17 categories. Head coach Kyle Shanahan, general manager John Lynch and team ownership all received A- marks.

San Francisco's worst categories came in the training areas where their training room and training staff both received C- ratings. The only other grade below a B was team travel, which came out to a C+.

Here are the 49ers' grades for each category:

  • Treatment of Families: B
  • Home Game Field: A-
  • Food/Dining Area: A
  • Nutritionist/Dietician: B+
  • Locker Room: B
  • Training Room: C-
  • Training Staff: C-
  • Weight Room: A
  • Strength Coaches: A
  • Position Coaches: A-
  • Offensive Coordinator: A-
  • Defensive Coordinator: A
  • Special Teams Coordinator: B+
  • Team Travel: C+
  • Head Coach: A-
  • General Manager: A-
  • Team Ownership: A-

It's clear the 49ers need to make some improvements in the training areas, particularly after their injury woes over the last several years. It's notable that the grades went down after both received a B- on the 2025 survey.

NFLPA report cards don't necessarily translate to on-field success or failure, but for the 49ers a healthy 2026 may stem directly from making any necessary improvements to their training room and training staff next year.
