Maple Leafs' Morgan Rielly slip-and-slide lowlight sums up Toronto's entire season

The play that sums up the entire Toronto Maple Leafs season didn't even actually count.

But just because an offside negated it doesn't mean it doesn't tell the whole dang story.

With the Leafs taking on the Florida Panthers, Morgan Rielly was attempting to defend in his own zone and fell.

And really, calling it a fall is generous.

He slipped and slid and flailed and wobbled and collapsed. And oh yeah, took out a teammate along the way.

You can watch it a bunch of times and it won't get old:

He's lucky there was offside on the play, because without that, this would end up being one of the most replayed clips of the entire season.

Even with that call, Leafs fans won't soon forget it.

It came on a brutal night for Toronto, a 5-1 loss to Florida, a win the Panthers really needed and a defeat that might send the Leafs spiraling toward being sellers for sure by next week's trade deadline.

Rielly himself, at least according to some analysts, is a trade candidate. This video surely won't raise his value.

At this point, though, it seems like a lost cause for the Maple Leafs. They're stumbling and bumbling their way toward a disheartening finish line.
