ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has officially released an updated mock for the first round of the 2026 NFL draft.
Alabama has a total of two players projected as first round picks. Star quarterback Ty Simpson and versatile offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor are both listed as top picks in Kiper’s mock draft, as Simpson is projected to be drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 21, while Proctor is listed at No. 27 to the San Francisco 49ers.
Each former Crimson Tide star was widely regarded as a top player at their position throughout the 2025 campaign, as both Simpson and Proctor could quickly begin to thrive during their rookie season in the NFL.
Simpson recorded 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns throughout his one and only season as the Tide’s starting quarterback. Proctor played a massive role in Simpson’s success last year, as both playmakers could quickly emerge as potential day one starters in the NFL next season.
The NFL draft will begin on April 23 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as both Alabama stars could quickly begin to shine throughout their careers on the professional level.
