Juventus to meet Spalletti over new contract as coach’s requests emerge

Tuttosport newspaper reports that Juventus directors will meet Luciano Spalletti next week to begin negotiations over a new contract.

Juventus have entered the crucial part of their season as they prepare for a key Serie A game against Roma on Sunday.

Spalletti’s contract expires at the end of the season and the Serie A giants have already decided to offer the Tuscan tactician a new deal.

According to Tuttosport, Spalletti is happy to continue at Juventus but wants guarantees regarding the club’s project, starting from next summer’s transfer campaign.

Tuttosport reports that the possible agreement between the club and the coach is not about money or salary, but rather about the club’s plans.

According to the report, Spalletti expects one big signing in each department, but the Bianconeri’s budget will largely depend on whether they qualify for the Champions League.

Spalletti is fully backed by the club owner, John Elkann, who visited the team in the dressing room after Wednesday’s 3-2 win over Galatasaray, and the coach was positively impressed.

At the same time, however, Spalletti was so disappointed by the elimination and drained by the return leg in Turin that he spent a day at his home in Tuscany to recover.

Today, he won’t be talking to the media on the eve of a Serie A match against Roma; instead, Pierre Kalulu will be sent.
