Colorado Buffaloes Face Staff Overhaul

Colorado Buffaloes football staff is experiencing major turnover, with defensive coordinator Robert Livingston departing for the NFL's Denver Broncos.

Colorado Buffaloes football continues its staff overhaul, as defensive coordinator Robert Livingston heads to the NFL's Denver Broncos as defensive pass game coordinator. The Buffaloes have now lost 77 years of NFL experience since March 2025, with new coordinators and position coaches for offense, defense, quarterback, tight ends, defensive line, and cornerbacks in 2026.

Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur's departure is understandable as he struggled to adapt to college football. His replacement Brennan Marion is expected to bring more creativity with his Go-Go offense. The defense improved under Livingston in 2024, ranking 43rd in scoring defense and 15th in sacks. Colorado has promoted linebackers coach Chris Marve to replace Livingston as defensive coordinator.
