Rahm Accuses European Tour of Extortion

Spanish golfer Jon Rahm has accused the DP World Tour of extortion in his ongoing dispute over participation requirements.

Jon Rahm has used the term "extortion" to describe his conflict with the European circuit. The golfer from the Basque Country claims he and other LIV Golf players are being pressured to sign a two-way agreement: avoiding fines for playing in Saudi League tournaments in exchange for settling outstanding debts and playing a minimum number of European Tour events this season.

The negotiations are being handled individually. In Rahm's case, avoiding fines would require him to play six European Tour events, two of which would be chosen by the organization itself. However, Rahm has refused to compete in more than the minimum four tournaments required to maintain his tour card.
