Colorado State's hot shooting proved too much for San Jose State as the Rams defeated the Spartans 85-73. The Spartans showed fight throughout, particularly behind Colby Garland's game-high 28 points, but Colorado State's 62% shooting and 53% from three-point range ultimately wore down San Jose State.
Freshman Melvin Bell Jr. added 12 first-half points for the Spartans, while Brandon Rechsteiner led the Rams with 15 points, including five three-pointers. Spartans head coach Tim Miles expressed disappointment with allowing Rechsteiner to get open shots early in the contest.
