Sonny Styles Stuns at NFL Combine with Historic Workout

Sonny Styles, the 21‑year‑old former Ohio State linebacker, set combine records with a 43.5‑inch vertical and 11‑ft broad jump, and tied for the fastest 40‑yard time among linebackers.

At the NFL Combine, Styles posted a 43.5‑inch vertical—just 1.5 inches shy of the all‑time record—and an 11‑ft 2‑in broad jump, the fourth best among linebackers since 1999. He also ran a 4.46‑second 40‑yard dash, tying for the best time of the day, and earned a 92 athletic score, the highest for a linebacker.

The 6‑ft‑5, 244‑lb former safety, who reclassified in high school, is projected to be the Cowboys’ No.12 pick in Yahoo Sports’ mock draft. A son of former Buckeyes and NFL linebacker Lorenzo Styles Sr., he also brings a basketball background that helped shape his athleticism.
