Real Madrid attacker to follow conservative treatment for knee problem, not considering surgery

According to a recent update provided by AS, it has come to light that concern is growing around Kylian Mbappe after fresh developments regarding his ongoing knee discomfort.

The Real Madrid forward has been dealing with a sprain in his left knee since December, which is an issue that first surfaced after the match against Celta de Vigo in early December last year.

Although the club confirmed the injury at the time, there has been no further official medical update since then.

What’s the situation right now?

Over the past few months, Mbappe has often played through the discomfort, at times deciding himself whether he felt ready to feature.

However, in the build-up to the Champions League clash against Benfica, warning signs reportedly intensified.

During Tuesday’s training session at Valdebebas, the striker felt the issue again. That latest setback prompted him to take a more cautious approach.

Instead of continuing to manage the pain match by match, the aforementioned outlet mentions that Mbappe has now chosen to pause and seek a more definitive diagnosis.

One of the main uncertainties remains identifying the precise source of the recurring discomfort.

Attempts at full recovery have not delivered the expected results, and the problem has lingered longer than anticipated.

World Cup in sight

A major complication in this situation is the upcoming World Cup. Any surgical procedure would put his participation with the French national team at serious risk.

For now, Mbappe is not willing to take that step. Instead, he is continuing with conservative treatment, meaning that he will not undergo surgery.

The duration of his absence remains unclear. What has become evident, though, is that returning prematurely is no longer an option

Real Madrid need Mbappe at his best and not managing pain.

For everyone involved, the focus is on finding a long-term solution that restores his level without risking further setbacks.
