After a couple of road series to begin the 2026 season, Michigan State is headed back to a familiar place for the third weekend of the year. The Spartans have arrived in Greenville (SC) for the First Pitch Invitational, an event the Spartans make a yearly appearance at. It will be three games this weekend played at Fluor Field, the home of the Greenville Drive baseball team, the South Atlantic League affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
The weekend will open with a Friday afternoon contest with Illinois. It is a non-conference affair between the Spartans and Fighting Illini, starting at 2 p.m. The game can be heard The Varsity Network, home of Illinois live streams.
On Saturday, it will be a single game for the Spartans at 6 p.m. against the Albany Great Danes, before closing out the weekend on Sunday with a game against the James Madison Dukes.
After two wins against a ranked Louisville team, the Spartans have dropped four in a row, losing the series finale against the Cardinals, before getting swept by No. 3 Texas this past weekend. MSU will be looking for a quick bounce back in the Palmetto State.
