Fitzgerald Proposes College Football Calendar Changes

Michigan State football head coach Pat Fitzgerald outlined his vision for reforming the college football calendar during a recent podcast with ESPN analyst David Pollack.

Fitzgerald proposed several significant changes to the current structure. He suggested moving up the start of the season, implementing home playoff games similar to the NFL, FCS, and D2 levels, and eliminating conference championship games.

The national title game should be moved to January 1st, while bowl games would be scheduled a week after the regular season concludes, according to Fitzgerald's comments on the podcast.
