Nebraska-Omaha Player Helps Driver After Sinkhole Swallows Two Vehicles

University of Nebraska-Omaha women's basketball player Olivia Borsutzki and teammate Esra Kurban rescued a man trapped in a sinkhole that swallowed two vehicles at an intersection.

Borsutzki, a 5-foot-11 junior guard, noticed the danger while stopped at a red light. She left her car and pulled the SUV driver out of the 30-50 foot wide hole before Kurban joined in. Borsutzki later criticized bystanders for filming the incident instead of helping.

The sinkhole was caused by a water main break. After the incident, Borsutzki received praise from teammates and staff, including a text from her strength coach calling her 'Very strong, big dog.'
