Flamengo Dismisses Filipe Luis After 8-0 Victory

Flamengo announced the dismissal of manager Filipe Luis at 00:59 local time, hours after the club's 8‑0 win to reach the Campeonato Carioca final.

Flamengo released a statement saying Luis would no longer be in charge, along with assistant Ivan Palanco and physical trainer Diogo Linhares. The decision came just after the club's 8‑0 second‑leg win over Madureira, which secured a 11‑0 aggregate victory and a place in the final against Fluminense.

Luis, 40, guided Flamengo to seven titles in 100 matches, including the 2025 Copa Libertadores and the 2022 Campeonato Carioca. He previously won the Premier League with Chelsea in 2015 and had a 333‑game career with Atlético Madrid.
