India reach T20 World Cup semi-finals for record sixth time

India have qualified for the semi-finals of the 2026 T20 World Cup with a five-wicket win over the West Indies, securing their record sixth appearance in the knockout stage.

Chasing 196 in Kolkata, India completed the chase with four balls to spare. This victory highlights their consistency, as they have now reached the semi-finals in six out of the ten T20 World Cups played since 2007.

India will face England in a highly anticipated rematch following their defeat in 2022. The team has reached the final three times, lifting the trophy twice in 2007 and 2024.
