Munie Brace Powers San Jose Past Sporting KC

Daniel Munie scored twice and Preston Judd added a goal as San Jose Earthquakes defeated Sporting Kansas City 3-0 in their MLS season opener.

San Jose dominated from start to finish, with Munie and Judd scoring four minutes apart just before halftime. Munie's left-footed tap came after Judd's header was deflected by keeper John Pulskamp, and Judd added another in stoppage time with the left boot from the center of the box.

Munie completed his brace in the 54th minute with a strike from the middle of the box. San Jose outshot Sporting KC 18-7 and had 15 corner kicks to three for SKC, which enters the 2026 season following a major overhaul with new general manager David Lee and head coach Rafaël Wicky.
